Board of Directors Update:

 

At the Annual General Meeting held in the Auditorium on April 24, Pat Fyffe was elected as President of our Older Adult Centre.  Pat has been a member of the Centre and the Board since 2002 holding various positions and most recently in the capacity of Vice President, Human Resources.  Pat has been a community developer and

fitness instructor for older adults for 35 years.  She was responsible for establishing the Next Step to Active Living for Adults with Physical Disabilities for the City of

Mississauga in partnership with the Ministry of Health.  Pat has 3 adult daughters, Sheryl, Carolyn and Jenn.  Pat and her husband Wayne are expecting their first

grandchild in January.

 

The membership also elected a new Vice President for the Older Adult Centre.  Esther Williams has been on the Board since 2003, most recently in the position of Director of Fundraising and Special Events.    Esther was born in Barbados.  She emigrated with her family to Trinidad, West Indies in 1945 and then to Canada in 1962.  She worked for the Ministry of Finance as a Property Appraiser for 28 years before retiring in 2000.  Esther also taught for the Toronto and Peel School Boards.  Esther is an

active volunteer with Eden Church.  Esther has a daughter Corinne and a son

Torberne.  She also has one granddaughter, Mikaela.
